yMixer - schematics - voltage indicator

As I've gotten access to more parts, I've expanded the ways that I have solved this problem of my design: the voltage indicator. At first a single diode illuminating when the voltage was too high was plenty. But I stumbled accross some quad comparator chips, so I made a new schematic, but soon afterwards found the LM3914. Take a look at these schematics:
The original simple solution:
simple, single LED voltage indicator

This implementation would be a hassle at best, all those resistors.
This is the only one I'd advise against using.
4-comparator voltage indicator

This design wins in my book, a lot more functionality and a lot less work!
